Bronny James Receives Loud Ovations in Lakers’ Road Win Over Wizards
Washington, D.C. – Bronny James, the son of NBA legend LeBron James, received loud ovations from fans as the Los Angeles Lakers secured a dominant 134-96 road victory over the Washington Wizards on Thursday night. Even while playing on the road, Bronny was a crowd favorite, with fans in Washington chanting his name throughout the game.
With the Lakers well ahead, Bronny played the entire fourth quarter and scored a career-high five points. Although he shot just 1-for-6 from the field, his standout play came when he converted a three-point play with a driving layup while being fouled. He also contributed two rebounds, two assists, one steal, and showcased solid defense throughout the game.
Lakers head coach JJ Redick praised the young player’s performance, highlighting his improvements on both ends of the floor. “He did a lot of really good things tonight,” Redick said. “I thought he made a couple really nice passes. Defensively he was great. It’s building blocks for every young player, and I think tonight was a good, positive building block for him.”

In addition to his points, Bronny had a memorable highlight when he threw a long pass to Dalton Knecht for a dunk and lobbed an alley-oop to Christian Koloko, who finished with a dunk of his own.
The game ended with Bronny sinking two free throws in the final seconds, capping off his performance with chants of “MVP! MVP!” from the crowd. Despite the pressure and attention, Redick noted how well Bronny has handled the spotlight. “He’s had eyeballs on him his whole life. He’s used to it… He has handled everything with dignity, grace, and class. He’ll continue to grow.”
Bronny’s performance in the blowout win served as another step in his development as a player, with many more opportunities ahead as he gains more experience at the NBA level.
